Mission
Statement Core
Group of Companies is dedicated to becoming a pioneer and leader in the GREEN
Building revolution by becoming a world class manufacturer of GREEN solar light
systems that provide industry and institutions a competitive advantage. Most importantly
our goal is to diminish the strain on our environment by reducing the use of fossil
fuels in our society. In so doing, we have assembled a "CORE" offering
of energy efficient DAY & NITE integrated SOLAR LITE products designed
to reducing operational costs and increasing productivity. WHY
GREEN? COMMON SENSE! Light is readily available everyday for any building,
why not use it? We are looking for companies and institutions who
want to make a difference, not only on the environment but for their people.
An investment in the Green building methodology is best characterized by Joseph
Romm, the author of COOL COMPANIES.
| "Whoever
best uses energy efficiency and pollution prevention to lower costs and increase
productivity - will achieve a unique competitive advantage and dramatically lower
greenhouse gas emissions as well." | | | Former
assistant secretary for the Dept. of Energy Director, Office of Energy Efficiency
and Renewable Energy | What
is Green Design? "Design
and construction practices that significantly reduce or eliminate the negative
impact of buildings on the environment and occupants that address: sustainable
site planning; safeguarding water and water efficiency; energy efficiency; conservation
of materials and resources; and indoor air quality." -U.S. Green Building
Council What is a Green Building?
"A green building is designed
to minimize the total environmental harm of its materials, construction, operation
and deconstruction. It is build upon strategies that will save money, reduce waste,
increase worker productivity and create a healthier environment for people to
live and work." -Green Building Alliance Defining
Green "Sustainable Design-An integrated approach
to the built environment that balances the social, economic and environmental
aspects of our lives and enhances the well-being of our communities."
-The David and Lucile Packard Foundation LEED*
The LEED (Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based
national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members
of the U.S. Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry
developed LEED and continue to contribute to its evolution. LEED standards are
currently available for:
New construction and
major renovation projects
Existing
building operations
Commercial
interiors projects USGBC
committees are actively collaborating on new LEED standards. Check for frequent
LEED updates. The Technical and Scientific Advisory Committee (TSAC) researches
issues related to the LEED standard. LEED
was created to:
define
"green building" by establishing a common standard of measurement
promote
integrated, whole-building design practices
recognize
environmental leadership in the building industry
stimulate
green competition
raise
consumer awareness of green building benefits
transform
the building market LEED
provides a complete framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability
goals. Based on well-founded scientific standards, LEED emphasizes state of the
art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency,
materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED recognizes achievements
and promotes expertise in green building through a comprehensive system offering
project certification, professional accreditation, training and practical resources.
