MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION

All steel construction includes 12 gauge interior walls and 14 gauge exterior walls. Integrated
framing and structural members ensure toughness.

INSULATION
3 inch thick, 6 lb. density mineral wool in doors, roof, and walls.

CAPACITY
1 to 8 drums. Maximum weight per drum is 900 pounds.

HEAT EXCHANGER
Heat exchanger made of 1” schedule 40 steel pipe rated for saturated steam up to 200 psig. Recirculating coil available for use with hot water or hot oil.

HEATING MEDIUM
Saturated steam to 200 psig. (Electric model also available).

FINISH
Heat resistant silver (int.)
Acrylic enamel(ext.)
Custom finishes available.

INSTALLATION
Unit is shipped completely assembled. Simply set in place and connect to steam supply.

FREEZE PROTECTION HOT BOX

The Sahara line of Freeze Protection Hot Boxes is designed for warming applications of 100ºF or less.

Fully insulated, each unit is electrically heated with forced air circulation.

INSULATION
Interior walls covered with 1” foil-covered fiberglass ductboard insulation.

TEMPERATURE RANGE
Up to 100°F.

“CLASS A” ELECTRIC OVEN

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA, Bulletin 86) requires a special oven, defined as “Class A” when heating materials with flammable solvents. NFPA standards are also used by OSHA and insurance underwriters to meet their requirements.

A “Class A” oven must have the following features:

• Forced exhaust (sized to keep the flammable solvent vapor concentrations below the lower explosive limit in the oven.)
• A method to prove airflow (airflow switch)
• Purge timer (works in conjunction with exhaust blower to purge the oven of volatiles before heaters are energized.)
• Explosive relief area

DRUM ROTATOR HOT BOX

The Sahara Drum Rotator Hot Box heats and rotates from one to thirty-two 55-gallon drums in the horizontal position. Rotator controls and motor are mounted on the outside of the Hot Box for convenient access and temperature protection. The Hot Box is available in various capacities and can be heated with steam, electricity, hot oil or hot water. Features include spill containment capacity, air circulation for uniform temperatures and temperature control.
